Langerug School provides specialised education to learners with specific barriers to learning and Autism. Learners are accommodated in smaller class groups. Support is provided according to individual needs.
Learners receive remedial teaching, occupational therapy, speech therapy, psychological support, counselling, audio and visual reinforcement of teaching, and assessment accommodations like a scribe or reader, among others.
They also utilise speech-to-text and text-to-speech programmes in class and during assessments. The code of conduct is aimed at promoting learning in the classroom.
Langerug School has two sections, namely a section for learners with specific barriers to learning (CAPS curriculum) and a section for learners with Autism (Individualised Support Plans).

Foundation Phase
Smaller class groups (max 12) follow an adapted and inclusive mainstream curriculum.
Intermediate Phase
We offer six subjects, as dictated by the National Education Department.
Senior & FET Phase
Smaller class groups (max 14) follow an adapted and inclusive mainstream curriculum.
The vision of Langerug School is to provide education and training to learners with specific educational needs. Skilful educators offer high levels of specialised support with regard to therapy, curriculum, assessment and LTSM (LOOM).

Individual Support Plans
At Langerug School’s Autism section learners are supported and receive tuition according to an Individual Support Plan (ISP).
Auxiliary Services
The auxiliary services at Langerug School are rendered by an educational psychologist, counsellor, occupational therapists, a speech therapist and remedial educators.
