SLD<\/em> Section<\/h2>\n

The SLD section accommodates learners with specific barriers to learning and Autism (Level 1).<\/p>\n

All applications for Langerug School are dealt with via the Department of Education’s referral system.<\/h6>\n

  • Average cognitive functioning (follow mainstream curriculum).<\/li>\n
  • The presence of significant and specific barriers to learning. Barriers to learning include among others: barriers with regard to reading, spelling, attention deficit and hyperactivity, emotional challenges, anxiety and Autism (Level 1).<\/li>\n
  • The learner should preferably be identified as early as possible and should have the potential to benefit from the mainstream curriculum and programmes offered by the school.<\/li>\n
  • The learner should be of school age.<\/li>\n
  • For admission to the hostel the parent\/guardian must be able to meet the financial requirements thereof.<\/li>\n
  • Admission will be dependent upon Langerug School’s admission policy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n <\/div>[vc_column_text text_direction=”default”]\n
    Practical factors inherent to the circumstances of the school should be taken into consideration when admitting learners.<\/h6>\n
